What are your present research interests?

My current research interests involve the engineering of enzymes for various industrial applications.

Do you have a distinctive viewpoint to your research?

Protein engineering has the potential to unlock interesting biochemical reactions that are usually not found in nature. With the ability to imitate natural evolution of enzymes in a test-tube, we hope to identify variants that has potential to be used in translational research.

What do you see as your future research directions?

With the rapid advancement in automation and robotics, we hope to integrate many of these systems into our biofoundry to facilitate the screening process with higher efficiency and efficacy.

Does your laboratory have a particularly strong research expertise?

Our lab has the capability to design high-throughput assays to facilitate the screening of enzymes with interesting activities or biophysical properties.
