What are your present research interests?

I’m interested in structure-guided protein engineering. Current focuses include enzymes for food and energy industries, and scaffold proteins for biotransformation.

Do you have a distinctive viewpoint to your research?

I try to decipher protein structure-function relationships that are not only intellectually stimulating, but also hold great promise for industrial and translational applications.

What do you see as your future research directions?

I hope to be able to achieve rational design of enzymes with high confidence.

Does your laboratory have a particularly strong research expertise?

Aa structural biologist, I specialize in X-ray crystallography, and have active collaborations for cryoEM projects.
