Directory & File Sharing

Sharing your data

  • Your folder will behave like any other folder on your Windows Computer i.e. you can create and/or save files and directories in them

  • Folder/File sharing is implemented via Windows Folder/File properties

  • You can change the properties of them by right-clicking on the desired folder/file and select "Properties"

  • Click on "Security" tab

  • Click on "Advanced"

  • Click on "Change Permissions" to modify permissions

  • Click on "Add" or "Edit" to modify the permissions as desired. You may be prompted for a login. Please enter your NUS user ID if you are allowing another NUS user ID for access into your folder/file

  • Please enter the NUS user ID or local storage user ID into the box and click "Check Names" to ensure the user can be found



  • Check off the desired permissions (read, write, delete etc) and change the "Apply to" drop down to suit your preferences

  • You will see the new added user in the "Permission entries" if you have added a new user access

  • Click "OK" to exit all the dialogs and apply the new permission
